After inquiries from many parishioners over the last several years and having discussed the possibility with the Parish Finance Council, we are looking at proposing to the Diocese a project to construct a columbarium on the property. A columbarium is a reverential storage for holding the urns of cremated remains of the deceased. We welcome any feedback from parishioners on the possibility of having a Columbaria here at SJN. On Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11, we held two receptions to honor Fr. Craig Irwin, OSFS, for his ordination to the Priesthood and to thank him for all he did for our parish while he was with us as a Transitional Deacon in the fall and winter of 2021-2022. Fr. Craig also preached the Saturday Vigil Mass and the 9:30am, and 11:30am Masses on Sunday morning.

El sábado, 10 de septiembre, y el domingo, 11 de septiembre, tuvimos dos recepciones para honrar al P. On Wednesday, August 31, we held a reception for Douglas Alvarado, honoring his 14 years of service to the SJN community as a member of our facilities staff. Over 50 parishioners attended “Donuts for Douglas” to wish him well as he embarks on his new career. All attendees wished Douglas well as he left SJN for a new position with an outside firm.

El miércoles 31 de agosto, celebramos una recepción para Douglas Alvarado, en honor a sus 14 años de servicio a la comunidad SJN como miembro de nuestro personal de instalaciones. Más de 50 feligreses asistieron a “Donuts para Douglas” para desearle lo mejor al embarcarse en su nueva carrera. On Saturday, August 13, and Sunday, August 14, we hosted receptions to bid a fond farewell to Fr. Michael Vannicola, OSFS. Fr. Michael is leaving us after three years to move to Wilmington, Delaware, to start his new role as Assistant Provincial Superior of the Wilmington-Philadelphia Province of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. Over 200 parishioners stopped by and wished Fr. Michael the best in his new role.

El sábado, 13 de agosto, y el domingo, 14 de agosto, organizamos sendas recepciones para despedir con cariño al P. Michael Vannicola, OSFS. El P. On Thursday, August 11, we resumed our tradition of hosting a reception for new parishioners to SJN. This was our first New Parishioner Welcome Reception since 2019. The evening allowed the newcomers to our parish to meet each other, and to hear from Fr. Joe and from SJN Staff about the many ways they can get involved in parish life and the many services that SJN offers its parishioners.

El jueves 11 de agosto, reanudamos nuestra tradición de ofrecer una recepción para los nuevos feligreses a SJN. Esta fue nuestra primera recepción de bienvenida a los nuevos feligreses desde 2019. La noche permitió a los recién llegados a nuestra parroquia conocerse, y escuchar al P. Joe y al personal de SJN sobre las muchas maneras en que pueden participar en la vida parroquial y los muchos servicios que SJN ofrece a sus feligreses.

On Friday, July 22, our Multi-Lingual Rosary Group celebrated its one-year anniversary. The group meets after the 9:00am Mass to pray the Rosary in English, French, and Spanish.
