As we wait for the Lord this Advent season, there are many opportunities at SJN for service, celebration, and preparing our hearts for Christmas.

WALK WITH THE HOLY FAMILY THIS ADVENT!
NOVEMBER 30-JANUARY 4
To benefit Catholic Relief Services, the Virginia CRS Chapter will be hosting a state-wide virtual walk-a-thon fundraiser, “Walking with the Holy Family,” from November 30 to January 4. Through Advent and the Christmas Season, walk on your own time in solidarity with families who must leave their homelands due to food insecurity, violence, or instability and pray while raising funds to support CRS programs throughout the world.

Taizé Prayer in Advent
All are invited to join us for a very special Advent Taizé Prayer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2 in the Church.
Come worship and reflect with us, offering beautiful prayers and praise, as we wait for the birth of Christ this Advent season.

DECEMBER 3
Mass of Comfort & Healing
Please join us on Wednesday, December 3 at 9 a.m. in the Chapel for our Bilingual Mass of Comfort & Healing. The Sacrament of Anointing will be offered at this Mass.

Eucharistic Adoration
3-8 p.m. in the Chapel
DECEMBER 4
Holiday Cookie Baking Class
Join us on Thursday, December 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the SJN Kitchen for a special edition of our Cooking Class: “Christmas Cookies.” We will be baking cookies, and for this class, we invite you to bring your own favorite home-baked cookie to share, along with the recipe.

DECEMBER 12
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Friday, December 12 is the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe!
Our celebration begins with the rosary in the Church at 6:30 p.m., followed by Mass and a reception in the Brown-McCarthy Auditorium.
All are welcome to come learn more about the Virgin of Guadalupe and Juan Diego while enjoying the celebration of this beautiful tradition.


DECEMBER 13-14
Rooted in Service Selling
Ornaments to Feed the Hungry
Rooted in Service Middle School Group will be selling ornaments to feed the hungry. Each ornament sold provides meals for their upcoming Lenten service project to feed the hungry.A $10 ornament provides 30 meals; a $25 ornament provides 75 meals, and a $50 ornament provides 150 meals!

Enrich your holiday season by joining The Reston Chorale in singing the glorious Christmas portion of G.F. Handel’s “Messiah” on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the SJN Chapel.
