Seasons of Wellness – “Take a Breath”: COPD and Other Respiratory Disorders

Join our Parish Nurse Susan Infeld RN and Dana Rizzo RN from Waltonwood Senior Living on Wednesday June 2, at 10:30 am for another great health
education event via ZOOM! This year our nation’s focus has been on how even a “simple virus” can lead to respiratory failure.  Wearing a mask to prevent the inhalation or spread of diseased respiratory droplets became our shield. Suddenly in the United States and around the world, safeguarding our lungs was front and center.

Oxygenation can be enhanced or limited by many factors, even weight gain. Sleep apnea, which many adults struggle with, if left untreated, can lead to cardiovascular problems, glaucoma, and stroke. Asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema are all Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD). They can be hereditary or environmental, or the result of smoking or secondary smoke. Even if you don’t suffer from a “typical” or “atypical” respiratory problem, you won’t want to miss this great one-hour learning  (and connecting with fellow parishioners) opportunity! sinfeld@saintjn.org to register.
