How Can I Help?

Some in our SJN family and community may not have access to basic needs such as food, medications or transportation to the MD. If you (and your family) are healthy, under the age of 60, have access and can utilize hand sanitizer, and are willing to help serve those in need, please e- mail Jo-Ann Duggan at to volunteer.

Meals for the Embry Rucker Shelter

Saint John Neumann parishioners are joining together through Sign Up Genius to provide dinners from Lucia’s in Great Falls and Santini’s on Baron Cameron Rd. for 120 clients at the Embry Rucker Shelter. Meals are scheduled for Wednesdays: May 27, June 10 and June 24.
To join this effort you need only to sign up here and then call the indicated restaurant to make your contribution to the “SJN Wednesday Dinner Shelter Fund”. The sign up has complete details. For questions, contact Janet Broderick: or Michele Costello:

Herndon-Reston Cares

A new program has been launched to match local residents who need meals with local restaurants who need business. Those in need will fill out a form, which will be sent to a local restaurant, and then a pickup will be organized for the meal.

How can you help? A monetary gift can make a real difference – a donation of only $10 can provide one takeout meal to someone in need. Volunteers are also needed to serve in many ways: as a no-contact pickup and delivery drivers for individuals who cannot go to the restaurant themselves; to help translate information into other languages (primarily Spanish); to make phone calls to individuals who do not have email (in both English and Spanish); and to help with general administrative tasks.
