Some in our SJN family and community may not have access to basic needs such as food, medications, or transportation to the doctor. If you (and your family) are healthy, under the age of 60, have access to and can use hand sanitizer, and are willing to help serve those in need, please email Jo-Ann Duggan to volunteer.
Shelter Meal Program
Herndon Cares
A new interdenominational program in Reston and Herndon matched local residents who need meals with local restaurants who need business. Those in need fill out a form that is sent to a local restaurant, and then a pickup will be organized for the meal.
How can you help? A monetary gift can make a real difference — a donation of only $10 can provide one takeout meal to someone in need. Volunteers are also needed to serve in many ways: as a no-contact pickup and delivery driver for individuals who cannot go to the restaurant themselves; to help translate information into other languages (primarily Spanish); to make phone calls to individuals who do not have email (in both English and Spanish); and to help with general administrative tasks.
